Dimethocaine is a new local anesthetic that is similar to cocaine and can cause a similar effect. Dimethocaine completely inhibits the absorption of dopamine in the synapse of the rat penis with an IC50 of 1.2 μM, comparable to that of cocaine (IC50 = 0.7 μM). As a result of Dimethocaine, depending on the amount of dosage, replaces cocaine.
